Have another question? →Medicare supplement insurance, also called Medigap, helps pay certain out-of-pocket costs with Original Medicare. Medicare Advantage is a different way to receive Medicare benefits. Medigap does not work with Medicare Advantage.
You may be able to apply for another Medigap policy, but fall Open Enrollment does not automatically give you a right to change without medical underwriting. Your enrollment history, guaranteed issue protections and state rules matter. Review eligibility before canceling an existing policy.
Start with the purpose: replacing income, protecting a mortgage or helping with final expenses. Jim can discuss term life and final expense options. Eligibility, premiums and any waiting periods depend on the insurer and policy.
Consider premiums, deductibles, out-of-pocket limits, covered prescriptions and provider networks. Let Jim know whether you need individual or family coverage and whether you have recently lost other insurance. Availability and enrollment opportunities depend on your situation.
Bring your current coverage information, a list of questions and your priorities. For Medicare discussions, a current list of doctors and medications can help. Don’t send Medicare numbers, Social Security numbers or medical details by text.
